I'd like to introduce you Alfred Machaczek. Born in 1925, he was the "Werkstättenleiter" (Workshop Manager) of the Austrian Otto Schreiner & Auguste Blaha coachbuilding company between 1956-1984. During this period he amassed a collection of photos and documents related to the history of coachbuilding in Austria. When he retired he continued his research in archives etc. Over the last few years, he put together numerous booklets related to the history of individual companies. Today I have received permission to scan his booklets and make those available for free on the web. It will take a while, so I just wanted to share with you the good news
Erinnerung an die in Vergessenheit geratenen Wiener Auto Karosserie Erzeuger is a 91-page booklet focusing on coachbuilders, located in Vienna. Watch this space for a scanned version in the next few weeks!
