Walter Zeichner, "
Kleinwagen International – Mobile, Kleinwagen und Fahrmaschinen der 40er, 50er und 60er Jahre von über 250 Herstellern aus aller Welt",
(~ small cars international – mobiles, small cars and „drive machines“ (...) from more than 250 manufacturers from all over the world)
Publisher: Bleicher Verlag, 1990, 352 pp. (hardcover, 27,5cm x 25 cm) ISBN: 3-88350-160-3, price: ~ € 20 – € 30,-
This is an incredible book with lots of obscure microcars from all over the world. The cars are ordered by country, richly illustrated with wonderful pics mostly in b+w, but with brilliant coloured plates as well. You find a huge range of small cars of those decades, but of course the list is too long to be entirely discussed within 350pp..
Every make is accurately described with lots of infos according to history (company’s rise and fall), production numbers, technical facts, cross-references etc..
Of course I can’t guarantee whether everything’s correct, but considering my limited knowledge on that subject I couldn’t find any mistakes so far.
A small drawback: some critics wrote it’s not the most accurate book for micros of the late sixties. Something I cannot judge.
I got this special edition („Bleichergroßband“) for a bargain — one of my best acquirements of recent times.
Unfortunately this book is only available in German afaik.
Guess you will see more of this book in the following weeks...
BTW: The Antem/Mochet story of the CM 750 is told as well!
