In connection with a Memorandum of Understanding, it was planned to put the cab of the LK series from Mercedes on the chassis and drive train of the W50. Due to the expected high production costs, the cooperation was terminated by Daimler-Benz.
One of the many post-reunification projects that were shunned. In the background, a ready-to-run 6-cylinder engine with common rail injection, developed at IFA in 1985/86, was waiting...
