Bill, your next point is for this Volvo ETC (Environmental Concept Truck). Development began in 1993 and one was built in 1995.
Hybrid drive by gas turbine, fuel was ethanol. The drive was located between the axles, thus a very low entrance (60 cm) could be realised. Ideal for distribution transport, as was the steerable rear axle (turning circle: 17 metres with a wheelbase of 5.3 metres). If you miss the exterior mirrors, they were replaced by cameras 30 years ago.
The dashboard still looks contemporary today.
