From Australasia?
No, because..
Is it a Ferrari? It really reminds of a chassis (I can't remember which one right now) that was modified in the USA with similar wings, a new front and potholes.
..'galrot' is quite on a right way to solve this puzzle. LOCKED for 'galrot'

Unfortunately I'm sick for the time being so I won't have time to research it further right now. I think it could be opened up again.

Originally a spyder by Vignale. Suffered damage after falling off of a trailer in 1955 (while owned by Ebby Lunken). Lunken sold the car to Walter Rye. Rye had it repaired by Werner Sunquist of Reading, Ohio, at which time the body was modified to Rye's own design.
