You can unlock it if you wish. I cannot work this out - not Brooklands, there were no other circuits in the UK, only the Tourist Trophy, but there were no Singers entered. There was no Coupe des Voiturettes in 1914.

Probably best to allow someone else to try to solve!

I have a copy of the best-known history of the Tourist Trophy, and of course it doesn't mention the abandoned 1914 event! The Singer in the advert must have had an engine which was not fitted to other Singer cars, probably specially designed and built for this one race.

It's not even mentioned in Georgano's Encyclopedia of Motor Sport.

Agreed. An excellent puzzle and I've learned something new. It seems that the car was based on the successful Ten engine, and i wonder if the TT was planned for 2 classes in 1914 - the 1913 race was for engines up to 3310cc and all entries were thereabouts in engine size. The Singer was a much smaller engine  of 1089cc and I'm guessing there was to be a voiturette class in which this would have been competitive. (interesting choice of word in the advert "miniature" racing car).

My only regret is that someone realised I sneakily accessed the Autocar archives (which was technically possible for free, but it was not publicly available) and shut the whole thing down.
