I don't know why I worded my response this way. My source was modern (online post by a descendant of the builder), but dated the photo and build to approximately 1924.

Engine: Harley Davidson
Car sold by his father while he was in military service because he was afraid that his son, my grandfather, would kill himself with this car. Vehicle never found despite my calls in various specialized journals (Publication by Chantal Dumas Jourdan)
