Very close, it is a Ford G 398 ___ for the Bundeswehr.
Locked for you.

Bill Murray

It was also titled "SAM" but I have not found out what that stands for yet.

Perhaps Sonder-Ausführung Militär (special military edition)?

One more point for you.

Bill Murray

Thank You for the opportunity and the point.

You are most likely correct on your identification of "SAM" but I cannot find any reference so far that refers to the vehicle as a "SAM".

On the other hand, I saw several articles that mentioned that NATO referred  to this vehicle as "The Goat", referring to the sound of the motor under load.

Another 30 minutes of searching came up with this............

A cup showing such a Ford identified as a "Ziege", German word for "Goat".

Yes, it was nicknamed NATO-Ziege for its engine sound.

For one point, along with my admiration, tell me who built this, what is its name, and what year did it come to earth?

Is this a SUMB?  Simca-Unic-Marmon-Bocquet?  From 1957 or so?

Given the way the question is posed, it would be nice if it were a Leyland Martian.  But it's not.

Some kind of late Canadian Military Pattern variant?  Maybe by Ford of Australia?

Bill d isere

The way of asking the question is not a clue.
Canada, Australia and England are not to be explored
