Ken Burgess perhaps?

That's the answer I was looking for. The solution is Burgess Allard. Somehow the questions being asked started to centre around the owner/builder but I have no proof that this is the Burgess Allard J1 rebodied. I was simply using his name as a clue to complete the puzzle title.

The wheels look large to me and I suspect that this is indeed an older chassis. Nota Bene that a Jaguar engine was installed.

I was getting embarrassed by this one - I'm glad it's over.

My knowledge of Allards is mainly from David Kinsella's book which includes this picture of Ken Burgess and his J1 Allard. The car of the puzzle seems to have nothing in common with the J1 that can be seen but Gold Seal must have had some idea of what they were selling!

The wheels are not the same as the puzzle car, so perhaps not. Contemporary reports in Motor Sport suggested that the trials "crowd" called it the White Allard. It ha a modified nose.
