That leaves the Triumph Mayflower and Renown engines, which I would have thought unlikely, and the Triumph 2000 engine which feels a bit late for this car - nevertheless let's give it a go ......

I thought I recognised that Falcon competition body shell, but  I could not understand why it was in Australia. It is basically an early Elva, rebuilt, tweaked and modified by Nota to include a Triumph Herald engine, and driven by Spencer Martin at Bathurst, 1960.
