It's the Bmw-Veritas based upon Bmw 328 Lightgewicht roadster #85031, found in a barn in Mill Countee, Iowa by  Rodney Heath and Derric Freshou.

Jim Proffitt, one of the best expert about Bmw, said that Veritas was built on the basis of a 1937 BMW 328 Roadster, moreover a lightened model for the racing and then coming from the official BMW team! Following the examination of the car by the BMW Classic (an office of the Bavarian company that deals with the certification of its vintage cars), the car is officially recognized as the BMW 328 Roadster Lichtgewicht 85031, built in May 1937, white color and registered in the name of the same BMW.
It is not yet known how the car then ended up in the hands of Veritas after the war: the Veritas Arbeitgeweinshaft fur Sport und Rennwagenbau was founded in 1947 by Ernst Loof (former BMW engineer), Werner Miethe and Lorenz Dietrich in Hausen am Andelsbach who dedicated himself to the construction of sports cars based on pre-war BMW chassis; since there are no raw materials available, the only chance and the only one allowed by the US occupants was that. Veritas made some very interesting cars until 1953, also using Heinkel 2 liter engines (Komet, Skorpion, Saturn). I'm a little sorry to think that this curious coupé, unique in its kind, probably will disappear to revive its noble progenitor, but we still have its beautiful story.

Well....85031 when carring the plate number IIA 52112 took part in the 24 hours of Le Mans on 20.6.1937 with Roth/Uli, than RAC Tourist Trophy in September '37 with Bira, and Mille Miglia on 3.4.1938 with Uli.   Now if you want to know the name of the girl who served a beer to Herr Loof the evening before that race, she was named Louise and wore a red shirt with little yellow flowers...I can't give you her telephone number because I'm a gentleman!

Claimed to be the same car as this one: https://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/2015-44/sac926-veritas-by-autenrieth-from-1950/, but I have my doubts.
