It bears similarities to the P500 prototype but that was by Michelotti.
I've searched and searched but can't find any similiar picture on the Internet; is there one?!
Perhaps it's an early proposal for the P300?

No, forget the P300!
I've been doing more digging and found the following pictures on the DAF museum Eindhoven website which show what seems to be the same car.  It's only identified as 'DAF Concept Maquette' but is in the same model cabinet as a P500 styling model (and it's the same colour!).
So it seems to be another P500 concept model?

Well done Carnut, it is the DAF P500, which morphed into the P900, then the DAF 77, and ultimately became the unfortunate Volvo 340-Series. Michelotti submitted designs for this project, but this model was not one of them.

Oh, and if ever you find yourself in the Eindhoven area, the DAF Museum is well worth a visit. I went there a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Double Oh; you're now only eight points away from entering the Twilight Zone by becoming a Pro  !
