The decade is correct, but it's not a DB Panhard.

So is it one of those wonderful one off specials that competed in the 60s?

Yes it is. The problem for you is, there were seemingly hundreds of them!

Do you know the engine? Was it a big V8 or was it in one of the smaller classes?

I do know the engine - it's not very big.

It looks like a Triumph GT6R. Though, it's neither an american car, nor a special. It has a hole in the bonnet, which wasn't there in an original model, so it means that some significant engine modification had been done, or even an engine swap...
I hadn't found any photo of an GT6R with engine swapped, however, i probably found an answer. It's Sammio Alpha A1, a body replacement kit for a GT6, although it also may fit a similar dimensioned car. I guess, it's wrapped around an Triumph GT6 ( let it be mk 3) or a Spitfire.

There's nothing European about it, and it definitely has no connections to a Triumph GT6 nor Sammio.

You're there. LOCKED for tobytwirl. Just give me the name of the car, presumably its builder.

That's the one. I knew you'd find it. Goodness knows how many H-mod cars there were back in those days - I expect they are all there in that book about American sports cars in the 50s and 60s which costs too much for my pocket.
