No, not a Giannini.

Stanguellini perhaps?
The more I consider the nature of speed, the more mysterious I find it.

You can send me a Personal Message explaining why you think it's a Giannini, perhaps with a link to a website with a pictre and description of it?  You're not allowed to post links on the puzzle forums so that would be the only way you could actually give some kind of proof, although the car is on several websites described as what I have it as with no mention of Giannini!

I have this as a 1950 Gilco-Fiat 500 sports. Nomenclature of etceterini is a wonderful subject as you know, and it seems to be particularly odd around Gilco, who were after all chassis makers - not usually the people who commissioned them.  It seems that if the latter were lost to history, the car becomes known as a Gilco, in the absence of anything else.

This one is I believe owned in Japan, and I struggle with the online translater, but it is quoted as 650cc which is odd because 750 is much more common. These engines were very tunable and many made their reputation doing just that - including of course the Giannini brothers.
I cannot find any reference to it in the Etceterini bible, "La Sport".

Carnut

That's the one.
Well done.  I don't know its history either but I reckon it's probably a genuine late 40s/early 50s car.
