If you look into the book "mit dem Auto baden gehen" (take a bath together with your car) from René Pohl and Rüdiger Haack, Heel-Verlag, you will find on page 47 pictures and description of this model. René Pohl, and friend of mine and collector of amphibian vehicles, knew Mr. Trippel personally!

I see what  you mean; I've Googled Trippel SK-8 and there are plenty of hits.
But I have it with a slightly different name, which I have also Googled and get just as many hits, many of them also on authoritative sites!
If you give me what I have it as we'll call it solved with one name or the other then see if someone on site (Wendax?!) knows more about these things than I do and it can be corrected or otherwise!
It's just one letter that's different..

The SG 6 was built for military purpose, the SK 8 was only for private use. Unfortunately it appeared at the wrong time. About half a dozen have been produced.

OK.
Well I found it as the SG-8 but maybe the difference is that was for military use and the SK-8 was civilian.
Anyway I think we'd better call it solved.

Never heard of a SG-8, only SG-6, SG-P and SG-7, which were different cars. Trippel SK 8 is the correct name.

I did find some references to an SG-8 on the Internet but in fact the site where I got the picture from did label it as an SK-8.
I've concluded that is the right answer.
