I have a feeling this car has nothing to do with ford mustang inspite of the logo,the ford,s logo rus different direction.

This car is from Australia during 1980.  It does not carry the names Mitsubishi or Lancer, but there is a direct connection.

I saw several of the magazine images, and they didn't say "Mitsubishi" or "Australian Chrysler" to me, so I figured it would be a good puzzle.
