Some work to do.

For one point, please respond and identify car and coachbuilder.

Well it's LHD, so unlikely to be Holden or Vauxhall, so let's plunge in with 48 oldsmobile?

What I can see of the dashboard suggests 1948-ish Buick. But there are other clues on the body which seem to rule this out. Plus there seems to be a cut-and-shut weld in the central area of the roof. So was it a custom built limousine or similar? ??? ???

Not a Buick, but  a custom-built limousine

Not from 1946, but a Chevrolet from this era served as base car.

Was it a one off custom car, or built by coachbuilders - and was it built at the time it was reasonably new?

1949/51 Chevrolet  according to the instrument panel.

If so, not a common vehicle to spend a lot of money on if it is a true "coachbuilt", limousine.

A few hours trying to solve this one, no luck so far

Bill
