By the way, we've had the W.R.E. Maserati on AP before: https://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/2010-38/solved-neh-614-wre-maserati-1959

Now we are at a turning point of this puzzle:
First prototype of the WRE Maserati: Chassis built by designer-constructor John Wadsworth and mechanic Les Whitely in the UK, bodywork by Williams & Pritchard also in the UK. Then completion by installing the Maserati 200 S engine in Modena by Giorgio Neri, via Rangoni

Due to the good performance of the WRE-Maserati prototype, Luigi Bellucci, Mennato Boffa and Raffaele D'Apuzzo, were looking for a competitive replacement of their 'old' Maseratis 200S. Bellucci bought the WRE prototype in 1959 and raced it in Messina. He and his associates then purchased the rights from Wadsworth to build further examples of this prototype. Two more cars were built in the workshop of Giorgio Neri, via Rangoni, Modena. The chassis' came from the UK. Some more technical refinements have been done.

Due to my source, the later Italian-built cars had a different name, as WRE was no more involved in this project

None of my sources (including a well-known Maserati historian and a previous owner of WRE chassis 1003) refer to these cars by any name other than WRE. Chassis 1002 and 1003 were bodied by Neri & Bonacina (Nembo). The name of the team they were created for was Sporting Club Autonautico. Are either of these the name you're looking for?

Chassis 1002 and 1003 were bodied by Neri & Bonacina, so is the name you're looking for Nembo?
Yes, you are right, that Chassis #1002 and #1003 were bodied by Neri & Bonacini;
But this has nothing to do with the car's name
Hint: It is a Italian word, which can be found in an Italian dictionary

A friend of mine owned chassis# 1003 some 20 years ago or so, and when another car appeared with the claim to be WRE 1003, we spent some time researching these three cars in an effort to authenticate the real car. In all that time, I don't recall encountering any name other than "WRE" or "WRE-Maserati."

I just discussed this with the historian who documented chassis# 1002 for sale at auction some time ago. In all of the documents he reviewed, including period magazine articles, race records, etc., he never came across any name for this car other than WRE.

So it appears this is will be a difficult one to find!

Is the word that appears in your source the name of an animal?
