The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know.

#7
Front looks a bit Iso Rivolta-like. Bertone? Base is Fiat.

But not a Renault ( and not a Volvo !)

Simca 8 sport coupe ?

SACO

Yes! Locked for you !

Mogul

I belief this to be a Pre 1950 car, possibly a prototype, with the split screen and therefore made in Italy by Stabilimenti Farina

Having had, eons ago, experience of publicity photos I can tell you that the reason the driver is looking down and to his right and that signorina's dress dress looks peculiarly stiff, is that the photographer has asked him to hold the signorina's dress to better balance the photo. So no, she hasn't caught her dress on the seat adjustment lever.  ;D

SACO

 :)
But not by Stabilimenti Farina !
Sorry but unlocked !

Mogul

Original design Pininfarina but rights were bought by Henri Théodore Pigozzi, founder of Société Industrielle de Mécanique et de Carrosserie Automobile (Simca). The cars were build by carrossier Facel-Metallon, they produced the bodies and assembled the cars. Simca was to bussy working on the development of the future Aronde.

Figoni built a number of Simca 8 coupes, is this one of them?

I'm not so sure that the initial picture is a Figoni version, this is a Figoni version?

barrett

I think Figoni built quite a few different styles on Simca 8 base.

The puzzle car looks quite modern for 1950 - does anyone have more pictures?
