Interestingly, it appears to have a British number plate, -P or -R series so 1977 or so.  Was the donor perhaps an XJ6, if it wasn't an E-Type?

AME used the Challenger E-Type kit car and adapted it to German regulatory demands. The cars were powered by Jaguar XJ engines.
