The car looks like a Rochdale Mk VI, but I fear, to be wrong?

It is a Rochdale Mk VI body, yes, which answers part of the 'using what parts' question ..
Not enough for a lock though as that is pretty obvious...

That's right, yes. I thought it would be a lot harder to find I must say..

Gainsborough Engineering were involved, but under what name? And what was the main company involved? What does the 'CSC' in the car's name stand for? And I still need to know more about what its mechanical parts were from.

But I'll lock it for you to dig into.

That answers the parts question, but whilst you were posting that I was modifying my earlier reply to clarify what I'm still looking for,so have another look at that...

Pardon, is the question, "What does the 'CSC' in the car's name stand for?", for an extra point?

You asked with this puzzle for, "What's this, who built it, when, using what parts - for 1 point?"

To precise my answer:

What's this: CSC Mk III (car's name in three books)
Who built it: Gainsborough Engineering Co Ltd, Middleton, Lancs., Wrigley Motors Ltd., Middleton, Manchester (Source: Automobile Manufacturers Registry)
When: 1955
Using what parts: Bodywork: Rochdale Mk VI, Engine: Austin A30, 803cc, 30php/4800rpm, Wishbone suspension on both ends, transverse leaf spring front and rear, 16" wheels, weight: 11,5 cwt, max. speed: 70 mph

?-!-?-!-?

That information is all correct, but Wrigley Motors (part of Gainsborough Engineering Ltd) didn't build the car on their own.
I still need the name of the main builder, who the name of the car 'CSC' is named after.
I wasn't asking for new information when I asked what 'CSC' stands for, I was giving you a clue as to what I'm looking for: 'CSC' are the initials of the main builder of the car and of the man who engineered it!
Still locked for you.

OK, Cowap Sports Cars is what I was looking for so the point is earned.
Cowap Sports Cars was actually the creator of the car's company; the creator was Charles Sydney Cowap, also CSC!
Well done.

Here's the same car and photo from an earlier Puzzle, just in case they should now be merged (?).

I'm not going to merge them as the earlier puzzle was for a Rochdale but this is a different car which happens to use a Rochdale body.
Unfortunately it does seem to be the same photo which has been used in both puzzles, but I suppose when someone wanted to use a picture of a Rochdale Mk6 body they didn't particuarly care what car is was that was wearing it!
