Hello fromwien in fact, I had the name Simca 8 Gordini TMM, I changed because you made a message that it was Simca Gordini TMM 1GCS Sport. What is the real type of this Simca.  AutoPuzzles is great, I learn every day

Dear BERTRAND, dear D-type,
Due to my sources, the puzzle car is (see attachments):

Simca Gordini TMM 1GCS Sport, Le Mans 1949, #49, Trevoux/Lesurque (abandoned 1st hour with seized water pump. Some sources say clutch failure)

Short explanation about the sometimes confusing Gordini chassis, model, type and engine specifications:
Chassis: 1GCS
Model: TMM ('MM' for 'Mille Miglia', where the car should have had its first competition outing, which failed, due to a cracked cylinder head on the way to the MM)
Type: Sports Special (some sources say, that this car is based on the single-seater Type 11 chassis)
Engine: Type 11 or 1100 (4 cylinder)

Informations belonging to many different sources, like contemporary magazines, books, etc.
I hope for you, that they are clear enough, to do a right decision, naming the car correctly. Please ask, if you are in need of more details

Dear BERTRAND,
Some more info:
'Simca 8 Gordini' is totally wrong, as only a few SIMCA 8-parts were used on this car! Chassis and bodywork was made by Gordini, only a few suspension and transmission and engine parts were derived from stock SIMCA 8 parts.

The discussion should start here: Is it a
Gordini TMM 1GCS Sport?
Gordini-SIMCA TMM 1GCS Sport?
SIMCA-Gordini TMM 1GCS Sport?

From 1947 on, Gordini race cars were mostly entered by: 'Equipe Gordini SIMCA' (SIMCA did a lot of financial help and some technical support for this team)

Personal note: For me, it is Gordini-SIMCA TMM 1GCS Sport, but I won't overrule the writer of the Le Mans bible. I think, all the post-war Le Mans entry forms are rescued, they will offer the right spelling for sure
