Yes, in researching this I did see Nissan Ohta in some sources, but frankly I think 1.) that may be a misunderstanding of the coincidental proximity of the two names in alphabetical order in lists of postwar Japanese cars, and 2.) yes, it is true that Ohta became part of Kurogane in 1957 which became a subsidiary of Nissan in 1962 (that's kind of an oversimplification but OK for our purposes) but in 1953 or 1955 or whenever, Ohta was essentially "independent" as far as I can tell.
