Interestingly, Pietro Frua used his eight-year-old Glas GT design for the body. Just the front end was altered.

I learned that Frua built 2 cars based on the Ford Escort in the early 1970's.  When I saw that only one was on here, and they looked very similar, I decided that the Mexico GT had to join the Monte Carlo GT as a puzzle.

But it's still beautiful, as is the Glas.
Frua is one of my very favourite designers.
