Hmm, I used the word twist to try and signify that there is something different/unusual about this car, which does sort of include its configuration. I hope this helps...

Panhard single seater built by Jean-Claude Guny, fitted with a home-made 1700 cc flat-four engine built out of two 850 cc Panhard flat-twins and mated to a 5-speed GSA gearbox. It's not powered by two GS flat-fours !

Jean-Claude Guny has also built a Panhard 24 with a 1700 cc flat-four and a single-seater with a 1200 cc flat-four, both made out of Panhard flat-twins.

There's a very detailed thread about his work on a French Panhard forum, with lots of pictures and information, posted by Guny himself.

Bravo, at last! Jean-Paul Guny it is, so two points to Oko, well done.

When I took my original Puzzle photograph at a classic car show in Arras about eight years ago, the car was fitted with two GS engines and a Citroen gearbox. The car was subsequently displayed at Retromobile, Paris, around three years ago, back with its Panhard power.

Yes, it was definetly at Retromobile, in either 2012, 13 or 14, which I why I was very surprise that this puzzle lastewd so long as I felt sure it would have been spotted there!
