no, it's not a known name, it appeared in the Iranian statistics for a very short period of time, there's no foreign involvment AFAIK. And it's not known for its road vehicles.

younger.

And while it was not a licence-built version of a foreign bus, now I know that it was based on a German bus

no, unfortunately it won't. Try to find the German bus company first and then we'll move forward with more clues :)!

that was not so difficult :)

Next step, find the Iranian website of MAN which talks about their heavy-duty vehicles in Persian. This vehicle is being featured there :)

As I am so generous with hints, I won't lock it, it's not so difficult to find

pguillem : I was surprised that pnegyesi didn't lock it for you so I thought I could have a go at it. I didn't have to walk the dog as I don't have one, but last night I had to finish some work before looking for this bus : I started searching just a few minutes before posting the solution, so we were pretty much in the same situation.

pnegyesi : I think the licence plate says Zarrin (with a heavily stylised Z) and not Arrin.

No problem : Watson, my cocker, is happy and me too.  BTW, I couldn't find the Iranian MAN site, just a Facebook page where the Arrin bus is not showing.  However, when Google-image searching it, I found three Iranian sites, but none of them was the MAN Sepehr.  I just got it today.  Mysteries of the Net...
