Looks small to me.
Special bodied MG or Lagonda Rapier perhaps?
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

Yes, well . .
I presume it's not MG or Rapier, but another British smallish car.

Woolly Whoresnest  Wolseley Hornet perhaps?

This car has been posted before, but I want different answers this time.
Apart from the usual 'what is it, by whom' for the point I want to know who it was built for and what did he or she specify?

1936 MG TA Park Ward drop head coupe ""Symphony" made by 31 year old Charles Ward in his father's factory where he worked. This special one-off aluminium coachwork was created for his daily use as he could not afford a more expensive car but he wanted it to carry Park Ward coachwork. The engine had to be tuned and the chassis had to be strengthened. Because Charles wanted to show his skills he had designed and built Symphony by himself with the help and all the facilities of Park Ward Coachbuilders.

This car has been puzzled before but without a lot of the background information, which you have now provided so it's a point for you!

Actually what I read was that Charles Ward wanted all the trappings of the Bentley that he couldn't afford so did everthing on the base of this MG, but whether that was so at the time or whether the Bentley bit has been added to the folklore later I don't know, hence your info (especially the "Symphony" name) is enough to solve the puzzle.

Maybe that extra name could be added to the puzzle title?

It looks so much bigger than a TA from that angle. And the rear spats are missing, so it looks different from the original puzzle. Very chic little car.

Who knows this car?

One point only for the correct basis car AND the correct coachbuilding company.

MG TA Drophead Coupe Park Ward '1936

The picture was taken at Schloss Dyck Classic Days  near Mönchenglabach. I used to visit the show frequently years ago, basically prior to the commercialisation of the event. In 2015 there was a separate Concours a couple of weeks prior to the classic days.

That plus Park Ward and MG got met there. I first tried with Austin, but that did not bring me the answer...
