That's the Tara 2 - originally intended as an Aston Martin

According to my source it was built on a space frame chassis, and its shape was wind tunnel tested. I've attached the image of the scale model that was used for the tests. The car's drag coefficient was as low as 0.034. And that's about all I know. Never heard of the Aston Martin bit.

There was a big article on this in Alternative Cars magazine about 25 years ago - I will have to dig it out!

That would be great!

Update: Let me add one more picture  ;) As I have found this prototype was designed by Tony Claydon and built Merlyn Racing Cars (the company that never made any road-legal car ??? ) in 1980.

Got the link @re is reffering to. It seems it was a stillborn project for a new TVR. Aston Martin isn't mentioned...

The car's drag coefficient was as low as 0.034.

Maybe you ment 0.34?  ;) 0.034 is like a needle's Cx...

It says 0.034 on the web page - and I didn't say Cx ;)

But Cx IS the drag coefficient ;)
And 0.034 is certainly too low a value for a car. Such values are seen in airplanes, because for planes one measures the cx for the wing not for the frontal area as in cars.
It's not denial, I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

Here a bit from the article I dug out. Seems Tony Claydon hawked it around more companies than just Aston Martin and TVR!

Yep, here are three pictures from the treasure chest - one of which is the same as the one Quiller posted, but in slightly better quality.

This looks like the UK-made Tara 2, designed by occasional kit car maker Tony Claydon

I'm out and about at the moment, but will find a photo and more info as proof when I return home this evening.
