Hoping is not as easy as morphly said, I can guess a 1986 Sevel Regatta.

Neither Morphy nor ALS15 is correct, they are on the right track, but the solution is slightly different. I 'll lock it for ALS15 to give it another go.

The car is for sure a Regata (I mean, a Fiat type 138A), Weekend, frist generation. From the rear view, the only odd detail are the rear headrest (never fsctory fitted), but I'm not sure it's really a clue.
It was made in 3 factories only, as far as I know:

- The Fiat Regata in Turin, Italy.
- The Nasr Regata in Cairo, Egypt (but I believe only the sedan)
- The Sevel Regatta in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Several special series have been made out of them. I see the trace of a sticker on the side so I could guess a German Regata Rivera (also the wheels match, but the roof-rack is missing). Am I on the right track?

I believe the headrest is home made, I checked and others do not have them so it is not really a clue, however I needed to check as it could have been one.
You are definitely on the right track, hence I locked it for you. The sticker tells the type/name.

If not a Regata "Riviera", perhaps a "Adria", a "Quarzo" or a "Veneto"?

No idea... There is the "SX", but I think it was only as a sedan.
These are all the special series of Regata Mk1 that I know.
I can quote also the "Estivale", "Solar", "FM" and "Mare", but I think they were on the Mk2 only.

Looking at the car I just see a Regata Weekend Mk1 in Special trim level. But the sticker should be the solution, I gyess.

So, please, unlock the puzzle.

unlocked, but you were so close. The sticker was only on one side of the car showing the type/name, hence I needed to adopt it, but  I can show the same car without the stickers and it would still have been the same puzzle, so the sticker is not a real clue.

Is it perhaps a Swedish Fiat Regatta?

Yep, that is the one. It is a 1985 Fiat Regatta weekend 100S

In the Swedish market the car was called "Regatta", as Regata was uncomfortably close to a derogatory term for an overbearing woman. The same name was used in Latin American markets.
Later on Sevel applied the name as well, but the Swedish used Regatta first. I do think this is a Turin produced car, therefore a Fiat rather than the Sevel.

I was hoping my subtle clues would be picked up, the Swedish were first in many safety items, therefore itcould have been that the hearest in the backseat was obligitary, also the getting cold would mean travelling North.

Honsetly, I believe that the point is not for me but for Morphly.

I understand that this is your first puzzle, but your clues should help to solve them. Morphly correctly said it's a Fiat Regata Weeknd at its first answer. I don't think that all the following discussion added much more; 100 S is just the version and usually we don't care about that.
Additionally, I would have locked the puzzle for him, driving the search toward an Italian-made car rahter than for me, as I was supposing it to be a foreign one (which is not).

I thouht I gave the point to Morplhy, I might have made a mistake.  Let me know please and I will correct this.
The car is  not a standard Fiat Regata as that would have been to easy.  You were dead on with the Regatta name, hence I thought you were more correct, all but the Fiat name.
The sticker would not bring any certainty over the car as they were also sold without. This car only had a sticker on the right hand side of the car. I hoped that the safety-standard would steer you to Sweden.

Sorry, you are right. I misunderstood the last 2 replies. The point is indeed correctly awarded to morphly.

I knew I wasn't going to be a normal Fiat Regata Weekend, but you never know ;-)
The fact that you locked it for als15 was a hint, and the Wikipedia page pointed towards a Swedish Regatta.

Cool puzzle , similar case as the Renault 177 in Italy.
