Sweden was RHD back then.
Actually Sweden was never RHD.
Although they drove on the left until 1968 their cars were always LHD, including the Volvos and Saabs made there.
They were of the opinion that it was safer for the driver to alight directly on to the footpath rather than into the road; pity about the poor old front seat passenger... Only the buses were RHD and they were the only vehicles which needed to be modified to cope with the switch from driving on the left to the right hand side; all the entry and exit doors had to be relocated to the right side of the vehicle.
