I have that pic...but are you sure it reads Bill Bill's?

Oguerrerob

Sorry, but that's what I read.

Paul Jaray

You find out a big trail to follow.
We have a name (All Studey) and probably also the builder...let's see if someone knows Bill Bill (or similar).

Otto Puzzell

"All Studey" would be a fib by the builder - that's a Plymouth Volare grill, not to mention other bits that were not from South Bend
You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

"All Studey 42 Special" is what we have so far...

Who will be the quickest?
(I really hope you'll leave Jim or Kevin the time to register and answer...and if you know what I'm talking about and are not solving this puzzle you have all my respect!)

pnegyesi

I know what you are talking about...

Otto Puzzell

No idea what you mean - but I'll be happy to see it solved. Every 6 months or so I spend a Saturday morning reviewing hundreds of pages of custom Studebakers, to no avail. :)

I put this car in my facebook page and it's been forwarded to a Studabaker's enthusiasts club. It was solved in few minutes!!
Pal, go ahead and solve this mistery!
Otto, I'll be glad to have you too and all Autopuzzles' friend there...

So is it locked for Pal or Jim or Kevin or anyone can go ahead ? As you gave the solution away I feel like everybody (or no one) on this forum should get 2 points !

Paul Jaray

The solution was there and it was discovered by a person outside Autopuzzles.
I invited him to join the site but was afraid some of my friends that are also AP members would just copy/paste it here before him.
It was also a way to let other people join the site.
Pal knew the answer and with much fairplay didn't post it.
Now, again, you just have to click that link to find it and it seems to me fair to give Pal (that was indeed the first) the chance to get the point.
1 will go to Oguerrerob too...the answer he gave was pretty close ;)

1942 Studebaker Champion modified by William Bills (of Cedar Rapids, Iowa) during the 50s.

(I don't deserve any point for that)

(And just for information, Jim Davis posted this car in a group were Kevin Roberts recognized it...those are Jim and Kevin)
