There were a number of similar BMW-based devices about during that period, some of them with nales ! Veritas Meteor springs to mind...Or how about EMW ?

There were indeed a LOT of similar cars at the time. This is not one of a series. Eigenbau, in other words.

Spitzmuller BMW (1949) with Roland Mall aboard.
I was hoping it might have been a man with the exotic name of Bernd Knacke - which sounds more like a symptom than a person - but sadly t'was not him although he erove something similar....

You solved it. It is indeed that car driven by that man. They all looked so similar, but there are just so many of them.

Thanks. I have a note I made at the time  which is "JMW Eigenbau" - I have no idea why I wrote this down although it must have some relevance. Any ideas?
