What's this, from when - for 1 point?

Remember - solving puzzles using 'Google Search by Image' is BANNED on AutoPuzzles!

BMW M1 Procar (look alike) as it's not equiped with the central nut axles as the racing cars. Remember the day's well when this series ran prior to the F1 race in Europe. Not very reliable though, but extremely good looking.

But unfortunately it's not a genuine BMW (this is AutoPuzzles after all so that would be a bit too easy!)

What are those new rules?

As I have only few minutes for this website during the week and I come here to try to solve something my answers/guesses are instantly removed. Gentlemen, what a heck?

There are already only few active members on the forum - one posting (better to say - reposting old ones) puzzles and only few who still spend time trying to solve them.
How many active rookies we have? Do we still need any new members / rookies and this section at all?
Why do you want split pro section? If so, create new level - super pro, master, guru, etc.

Summa summarum: once upon a time AutoPuzzles was a nice place to spend time and identify mysteries. Now google images search and attitude of members ruined all the fun and spirit of the forum completely. As there are less and less interesting things to see and to do, I just wish you all good luck and tell you goodbye!

Regards,
Arūnas

Sorry to see your reaction Arunas;  you are much too valuable a member to lose.

But it was for just the reasons you quote that individuals were posting their own new rules about who could compete.
We were finding that many puzzles were solved by just a tiny handful of super-knowledgeable Pro's within minutes of them being moved, which meant that most Pro's were never getting a look-in at all, especially those for whom the time differential is quite big.

The idea of Pro puzzles only being open to those with 200-400 points is an experiment and is perhaps a prelude to a new class of super-pro being created as a way of keeping the interest of those Pro's who reach 200 points but then struggle to make any further headway, resulting in loss of interest.

This may not suit everyone and clearly you are not happy about it, but it is a way of enhancing the interest for our members, not for spoiling things.
Very much hope you will re-think your decision to resign and we would welcome your own views about how to develop the site to gain and maintain the interest of members new and old.

OK, I'll open it up for all Pro's but will lock it for Arunas as I believe he already posted the answer once.
Hopefully he will return and earn his point...

Hi Norman,

I've read your message and appreciate explanation. I may have overreacted a little bit. Truth is, I did not like my answers being corrected or deleted.
Nevermind. AP gave me so much in those last 5 or so years that I am too much connected to the community that, I want to believe, helped to build a little bit.

For the future, if the puzzle is initially locked for the members below 400 or so points, may I kindly ask you to indicate so in your first post? I trust this would be much useful for anyone not only me browsing through puzzles.

I am thankful for the lock. As I wrote initially, I am quite sure that car is an obscure New Zealand-made (most probably one-off, as far as I remember) BMW M1 replica made by Everson Motor Works n Auckland. It is Holden Commodore-based and named Everson EMW6. Why six? Because it was the 6th design by it's builder - Cliff Everson. Total production - 4 examples.

Glad you cam back to claim your point, as of course you are exactly right.

I couldn't post the new 'rule' with my first post as of course at that stage it was in the Rookies (and it was before we thought of all this too!) but I did post when I moved the puzzle to the Pro board:

Open to Pro's with fewer than 400 points..

If invoking this new 'rule' then the intention will be only to leave it like that for a few days then if it's not solved to open it up to everyone.

That is not the same car ;).
Actually the puzzle car is the Prototype built by Everson for the EMW 6 and it's quite different.
It is more or less a replica of the BMW M1 and the front is just like BMW's one.

I bow to your superior knowledge!
I must say though that it looked like the same car, being the same colour and having the same wheels.  I can't see the front of course in my puzzle picture but I'll take your word for it that it's different from the front of the other car I've posted.

This is the rear of the EMW 6 and from that view they seems quite similar:
(sorry, this is the best pic I have now, but there is all the story in Patrick Harlow's book)

Yes, I see the different rear lights now.
This is the only picture I've found of the front in BMW M1-style:
