No need to carry a laptop all the time, a smartphone is enough to play AutoPuzzles and is much lighter ! Hence the 48 seconds

I have no need for a smartphone (except in this instance!) so I don't have one. Puzzles that I can answer are now very rare.

Yes, carnut, I enjoyed it very much, even though Saturday was spent under a marquee at Lavant watching the action on the big screen. Sadly I'm not a GRRC member (the waiting list is 6 years) so I couldn't get into the paddock which is what I really wanted - I'll have to threaten a certain editor with dire action and see if "arrangements" can be made for another year.

I didn't know you had to be a GRRC member to get into the paddock.
The last time I went (a few years ago) anyone could get in as long as they were wearing the right clothes.
My highlight was standing next to Carroll Shelby to have my photo taken; he was fine with it (though I don't think he actually noticed me!)

I'm pretty sure you need a special pass. To stop hijacking other members' puzzles I've started a Revival thread in the Racing section. You may be interested in my suggestion that we have an AP party visit one year. I'm sending you a PM.

For the first time in about 2 years there are two cars on the front page I've heard of - but I wouldn't have recognised either.

At Goodwood as well as having a valid pass - Paddock, GRRC, Corporate guest, Mechanic, Driver, Marshall etc you must also be appropriately dressed. If you are suitably dressed and relatively young and fit, I'm told you can hop over the fence as they don't check you once you're in.
