Well, now that I look at it again, the house behind the car looks slightly American, so how about a circa 1906 Pierce Great Arrow?

American, younger than 1906 and not a Pierce Arrow

One more guess: Midland?

Everything else I can find that fits the criteria given looks rather unlike this car, particularly in the grille.

Found one more car from another source that fits the criteria, but can't find anything about it online (much less a picture for comparison): 1911 Myers?

OK, so this is what I understand so far:

- This particular car was made shortly after 1910, which I assume to mean 1911 or 1912 (meaning that the make started no later than one of those years).
- The make was bankrupt by 1915, which I assume means the make's last year was either 1915 or slightly earlier.
- The make is American and starts with M.
- It's not Marion, Matheson, Mercer, Michigan, Midland or Myers.

Is this all correct? Or have I misunderstood anything, maybe about the years of the make?

yes, it's all correct. I just checked the Standard Catalog of American Cars to see whether the site which featured the photo made a mistake. But there's no mistake - so what you say is all true.
