"This 1925 Straker Squire 24/80 was purchased new by the Delmont family and is one of only two which were privately imported into South Australia. In 1945 it was purchased by George Brooks, a local vintage motoring enthusiast. At this time the car had an Australian body, heavier than the factory option. In 1946 George rebuilt the car and fitted a genuine Straker body from a vintage 4 cylinder car. It was used daily and between April and June 1950 George toured Europe in the car, attending a number of Grand Prix events such as the Monaco 500cc (Formula 3) event won by Stirling Moss, and met many other vintage motoring enthusiasts. On his return to Australia he continued to use the car daily and even entered rallies with the car."
