Obviously a mk1 cortina base.

Seems obvious but Lotus Cortina?

It is a Lotus Cortina but that's not the answer I'm looking for (too easy for AutoPuzzles!)

The grille design and the LHD suggests it may have been one of the fewer-than-200 Lotus Cortinas exported to the USA in 1966. But the headlight surrounds, the wheel design and the chrome around the side-sweep say otherwise.  ???  ??? Good mystery, Carnut... :)

Yes, so it's locked for you now to give me the car's full name for your point.

Cortina 1500 GT De Tomaso?

Yes it is.
What I need though is the answer to the question originally asked: the correct full name of the car.
There is something still missing from your answer (as well as something you've added which isn't actually part of the full name), so it's locked for you to do a bit of digging!

As you wish, but the answer is available online and is not difficult to find.
You've got most of the answer so the point is there for the taking..

Ford Cortina de Tomaso 105 ?

Yes, that is indeed what I understand its full name to be.
Only one car was badged in this way, and it ended up in Spain, competing in the Barcelona 6 Hours race in May 1967, when it finished in 11th place.
I've read that the engine was bored out to 1600 cc by De Tomaso to give Lotus Cortina performance and a 130 mph top speed, but its name would indicate otherwise as 105 was the horsepower produced by the standard Cortina 1500 GT engine.  That indicates to me that all it has is the standard engine, so I wonder what it was that De Tomaso did apart from apply some badges, though it was claimed to have been offered with a choice of either Weber carburettors or Tecalemit fuel injection.. A Mk2 Cortina De Tomaso also appeared in 1967, but again it stretched to just the one example.

The original picture:

Mekeubb got it one minute before me..Anyway, the Cortina GT engine developed 78 HP and the Lotus Cortina developed 105 HP, so basically De Tomaso tried to achieve Lotus performance in a cheaper way. I nearly bought one many years ago, but decided against it when I discovered that apart from number one all the others ( seven ?) were simple aftermarket conversions and not proper factory cars.

Yes, silly of me, I knew the Cortina GT output was only 78 bhp (I had a TVR with that engine..) and the Lotus had 105, although I don't think the Lotus could reach 130 mph...  So De Tomaso did do some engine tuning after all.  And I note 8 were built, which contrasts with the information I found that said only this one existed!

I see there is one of these cars for sale in the Barons Auction at the International Ford Show on 29/30th April.
It's pictured below and looks very nice, having apparently been fully restored.
In the usual way of auction houses, the description of the car contains inaccuracies.
It's described as a "1963 Ford Cortina 1500GT De Tomaso" rather than its correct moniker.  Also of course it's based on the Mk1 facelift model, which appeared in autumn 1964 for the 1965 model year, so can't be a 1963 model.
The guide price is £20/25000 if anyone has cash burning a hole in their pocket...  It's a lot rarer and a lot cheaper than a Lotus Cortina (usually about £35/40000 now) yet delivers similar performance; I would say it's much more interesting..

As antiques experts always say - find me another one.

It would make an interesting addition to a Goodwood grid, but that would mean butchering it to transform it into a competitive racer.

I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

I believe only 7 were built, exclusively for the Italian market.
