Indy racer?

Not an Indy racer, but it is based on an American car.

The car is featured on the internet, and the photo is taken in a museum. I don't know which museum (!) but it is very possible that this is Svedinos.

I don't know! It's almost certainly somewhere in Scandinavia.

Wow easier then I thought with the clue " somewhere in Scandinavia"...I just had to type "Finnish Chrysler 1932 racer"...and the Keinanen Chrysler Special came out!

Well done - yes, it really was that easy, and I don't understand why it stayed in the Pros so long. It's a fairly successful Nordic Racer of S P J Keinanen, which raced from 1932 right through to 1950 at least.

(I have seen it called an ex-Indy car but I'm 99.9% sure it's not - it looks too "stock" even for a junk-formula car and conversions of American cars into racers was very common in Scandinavia in those times.)

It has eight exhaust pipes, was it a straight-8?

According to Georgano. the 1931 model year saw 4 new straight-8 engines in the range, so I reckon it could be one of those. I wouldn't be surprised if Keinanen was the Chrysler agent in Finland.
