Don't know if it's the same, there is no reference to South Africa but they look quite similar:
In a popular website I found that the K4 Special had an Austin K4 6 cylinder engine and was raced in Tasmania c1966. In about 1965 the car was first purchased by Bernard Harbeck.
It could be based on an earlier K4 Special, run by Burnie driver Stan Allen, whose single seater open wheel racing car was based on a lengthened Ford 10 chassis and K4 engine, from 1958-1961, after its earlier career as Allen's Fiat Special, running a supercharged 1300 Fiat engine in the same Ford 10 chassis.

None of those names or connections appear to have anything to do with this car. Unfortunately  I only have a name for the car, which you have not mentioned, and a previous owner. I have tried to find out what engine powers the car, but sadly I have found nothing.

There is a strong possibility that the body is Milano-based, although I have no evidence.

PS the engine size is 1498cc so it won't be a K4.

I don't know. The image only appears once on the internet, and it's on a site which is not really race-car related.

Yes. It is the site for a car accessories company.

(I have just attempted to find the image by entering several variations of my known information, and the image no longer appears. This could take you a long time!)

There was only the image - I think maybe the company sponsored the car or possibly the owner had a link with the company. The image was available  either on Google or on this company's website. THe only information I have about the car, such as its vague history and current owner, I obtained from a well-known forum for enthusiasts of motor racing in the past.

I have to admit a problem - I didn't make a note of the website which also had this image. I think it was South African. I'm sorry I can't help any further. This is a BH candidate!

I have just re-found the image. It appears on Google Images if you enter the name of the car - which doesn't help you much!

It is shown on the website of a South African company which does interior trimming and makes convertible soft-tops. They apparently trimmed the seats.

The car is called Nemesis.

Your hints were fairly generous (not that I'm complaining).

No problem. I think it's only fair after all the effort you made. I feel quite embarrassed that I couldn't even find the source of my puzzle, but I found it again today, and "carnut" helped me out of pity.

All that I know about the car is the name of it, that it was powered by a 1498cc engine , and that the owner/builder was David Yates. It is mentioned on a well-known site in the thread dealing with Australian constructors, and I know that another owner of the car who raced it in Australia, saw that it was for sale and imported it to South Africa for use in historic racing there.

A well-deserved point.

On the car is written Nemesys.

;) Well spotted. I had seen the car referred to with the usual spelling on another website, and didn't bother to read the script on the puzzle photo.

I have amended the heading of this puzzle. Thanks.
