A Trident from 1971-74 or 1976-77. Now the engine is the hard part, as there are three possible answers and I do not know of any outside clue... Let's propose a Trident Clipper with a Chrysler V8 engine?

It's a Trident but not a Clipper.
I'll lock it for you to try again.

Thanks. I'll try a Tycoon (Triumph engine)?

That's a good guess!
Very few were built with that Straight-six Triumph TR6 engine (there weren't many with the other engines either!), this one dating from 1971.
Well done.

Why does the front remind me of the Austin Allegro. Maybe this was Harris Man's inspiration for the front of the Allegro.

Maybe it's the shape, framed by the silver trim and the rectangular lights, which are perhaps reminiscent of the Allegro.
However, compare it with a Hillman Avenger; the grille was actually lifted straight from that but with the twin headlights replaced by rectangular units.  You can still see where the twin headlights should be (and still are on some Trident Clippers of the same era!)

I see what you mean about it being a Hillman Avenger Grille. As you say you can see where the twin round headlamps go.
Never heard of a grille being used in such a way.
