Moretti??? The one from Turin?
Not perhaps Morelli? It looks definitely like the hard-tops made by Ala d'Oro in the late 40s, but AFAIK they closed before the Aurelia was launched.
I have little evidence apart from the blurb put out by Coy's when they auctioned it. From my experience auctioneers' information is rarely accurate however top-end they consider themselves to be...
Below is the full blurb (actually copied from another site reporting on the Coy's auction, but I know they described it exactly how I've written in the heading):
QUOTE
Lot 212 is this 1954 Aurelia B20 GT Moretti Spider (chassis B20 3287). Though not explicitly said to have been modified for race use, we don’t see what other purpose would be served by stripping the car down to the bare essentials. Though no competition history is claimed, the bare bones interior, roll hoop, and cut down screen lead us to believe it may have been campaigned in local, less famous events not deemed worthy of mention by Coys. In our book any past racing history, regardless of importance, is a big plus for the car, and would be among the first questions asked if we were considering placing a bid.
Shortly after leaving the factory in 1954, the car then headed to Moretti where it was modified to the open 2-seater with detachable aluminum hardtop seen here. It’s also said to have received a Nardi tuning kit that included work to the carbs, cams, and intake/exhaust manifolds. We wish there were pictures of the little V6, as with any old Lancia the engineering behind them is a huge part of our attraction to these cars. While we’re at it a couple of interior shots might help build interest and increase potential bids, too.
