You're right!
Bill Wyllie (which is the spelling I have) was apparently an industrial tycoon from Scarborough, Perth, who went on to become a multi-millionaire, but in his youth he built and raced this car successfully. He died not too long ago.
The car sat on a Buckler chassis and was powered by a Triumph TR2 engine, but apart from that I haven't been able to find out much else about it and the only other picture I've been able to find is the painting below; the body was said to be "Wyllie-devised" on the site I got the picture from, but clearly there's a bit of poetic licence there...
