Bedford CB prototype.designed in Luton to replace the Bedford CA van.
The CB was cancelled in 1959 due to the costs of the new van.

That's right, it is.  I was looking forward to the questions about which American make it was!
But can you say when it dates from rather than when it was cancelled, for your point?

Project started in 1957.It looks so American because David Jones,the Vauxhall head of styling, spent a lot of time in Detroit at the GM studios,hence why Vauxhalls of the 50's and 60's tend to look somewhat American.
