Turin 1971 , by De Nigris ?

That might have been who was behind it, but the name I'm looking for is the one who physically built the car?
Still locked for you.

Baldelli ?

No..
The car is often credited to Eurostyle but apparently that's wrong.

OK, I've given you a point anyway for getting the right car but I'll offer another point to whoever can say who built it.

The truth is I don't actually know the name of the builder, just the originator of the car (I thought I knew but I don't; maybe SACO got it right but he got his point for identifying the car anyway.)
Wendax is right, so I'll lock it for him to find out the name of the originator and that will put this puzzle to bed.

My guess is that the coachbuilder from Rome could be Stefano Contedini, as he collaborated with ing. Melchionda also for other projects in the following years (as the Taxy Help and the Fiat Uno Arcobaleno), that also have fiberglass parts.

I'd like to say you're correct and give you a point for it - but I don't know the right answer!
Is there any way of checking it?

i have a picture and a nice article about that car but has nothing to do with the puzzle car. It was built in 1984 and it's basically a Fiat Uno with raised top and a fancy painting (talking about the exterior).

Here's an automatic translation:

FROM THE FUTURE ARRIVES 'RAINBOW' THE VEHICLE POWERED A METANO

BOLOGNA - The future of 'automotive industry' is also a powered only methane car. It's called "Rainbow" and the design of a prototype was shown yesterday by 'engineer Adolfo Melchionda who with his collaborators is building the machine to present it in September, on the occasion of "Metanauto", the conference on' use of natural gas in transport . The prototype uses the body and, where possible, the mechanical parts of the "Fiat Uno". The engine of 1,300 cubic centimeters will be high performance, obtained with the 'adoption of a "turbo" system moved by electric current supply directly from the normal alternator. The gas cylinders will be placed under the floor of the vehicle to provide greater stability. It will be built fiber d 'steel, lower than normal weight and should provide a' range of at least 250 kilometers. L ' "Rainbow" can be converted into taxis, van and ambulance.

This is the Fiat Uno Arcobaleno.
About Contedini, as I said, I only guess he is involved in the Giannini, as he also made some other unusual vehicles for ing. Melchionda, as well as some experimental camping-cars in late 70s/early 80s.
