No connection at all I'm afraid.

This one is driving me mad. I knew it was from Australia before it was guessed and Holden-based was an option too. I still can't find it and I know I have it somewhere. I know it's a risky question, but I have to try: is this car featured in a quite known forum/website about Australian cars or am I wasting my time?

I see that site in my dreams, and reckon I know every entry.

The earlier Settember post was good - it does look an awful lot like a single-headrest WRE. I reckon the mould was taken from a Maserati of some sort!

1958 Prad-Holden.

(I solved this by looking through the results of the 1958 Australian Tourist Trophy and then referring to Google Images. It doesn't look like other Prad cars, and maybe my "Maserati" theory has some basis.)

Yes, that's it.
This car with its original body has been puzzled here before, but it wore this body from the early sixties on I believe.  It has now been restored to its original appearance.
Clearly it looks like a Maserati, and I suppose it's possible the body was transferred from a Maserati, but I couldn't answer in the affirmative as I have no idea where it came from.  It's a better-looking body than the original (in my opinion anyway) and the one that's back on it, but I suppose originality is everything these days...

Well done.

Another picture of the puzzle car and another picture of the original car:

You have more information than I could find. I know that 2 Prad-Holdens were built, one in 1958 and one in 1960, but nothing I found revealed your answer. Shows how hard I worked!

I take back my Maserati claim - the rear is nothing like it.

Indeed; I'd forgotten I had a rear view.
A much prettier car than it was in its original and later form..
I wonder if that body survived.

Here's another picture which might be the car in its puzzle-car form?:
