Eligor make a nice model of it; there are plenty of pics of it on the 'Net but not one mention of which coachbuilder bodied it, though one does mention it's a model of a 1950 truck.
But I can't find any pictures of the real thing!

Officine Calabrese ? It's not so obscure. I saw many trailers of them when I travelled in Italy.

Strange that none of the European websites mentioned the coachbuilder of the modelled van, but Googling with the answer produces the following from a Chinese (or Japanese?) website:

Looking for the Eligor model, I noticed that it was described as "Transport de viande" on the french sites or "Trasporti Carni" on the Italian eBay site. I just googled "OM Leoncino" together with "Trasporti Carni".

Officine Calabrese is the correct answer!   I know the did several trailers, but I never heard about their trucks.

I also Googled it in Italian thinking it would provide the answer, but nothing came up.  I tried it in French too but same result!  I even tried Googling for a refrigerated van in Italian as well as for 'Carni'.
You actually get different results from Google depending on which country you are Googling from, so without hitting that Chinese site I found (by Googling the answer) it may well not have been possible to solve this one from the UK.

Actually the Diecast model shows a normal OM Lupetto, and not the TA (Front drive).

How can you tell? It looks exactly the same to me..  It even says "Leoncino" on the front just like the real thing!

Targhediferro is quite right.. the Leoncino TA was a very rare animal, with front wheel drive, lowered chassis and single tyres all round. The cab was quite different from the standard version.

Comparing the two closely I can see the difference now.
Obviously Eligor didn't notice the difference though as they actually use the puzzle photo in their literature describing their model!

I suppose Eligor  used the base of a normal OM Leoncino (they realized a lot of different Leoncinos) refering to the Officine Calabrese one just for the back.
