The car itself was actually built and has featured here on AP... Now there's a clue!

It's by Giovanni Michelotti while working for Ghia-Aigle. Not  sure what car it resulted in, but they did a body for a 1954 Singer 1500 Cabriolet that look very similar from the side (never seen the front) which I guess it could be.

You'll see that Michelotti actually gave the car a name ("Simplon") which I really wanted for the point too but I'll stretch the point on this occasion!
