What is this rakish-looking sports car?

Make, approximate year, and coachbuilder are required to earn a point.

Hmm, I'm not entirely sure what to do about this now. :-\

Nicanary got in first with Bond, which is correct, but an incomplete answer, and I might well have given a lock to fill in the gaps, had I been given a chance to reply before the next answer came in, also with Bond, but with complete information.

So the puzzle is effectively solved, but sorry guys, on reflection I am not going to award any points for it.

To recap, it is a 1927 1.5-litre Super Sports by F.W. Bond Ltd of Brighouse, Yorkshire, with body by Jarvis & Sons of Wimbledon.

Tom_I - No problem with me, give the point to Arunas. He actually answered all the points of your puzzle. Although it looked a bit like a Frazer Nash, I guessed it was something more obscure, and had a stab at the Bond (obscure is the word, only 3 made). The only reason I didn't go further is because I had just arrived home from work at 11.30pm GMT, and to go into my reference books at that time of night would have meant disturbing my family and pets. BTW the puzzle photo is repeated in Georgano's Encyclopedia. This happens to me all the time - when I arrive home from work, I like to check AP to make sure I acknowledge anybody's attempt at my own puzzles. Sometimes I can't award points till the morning because I can't get to my notes!

I have often gained points because I finished off what someone else had started - it's all part of the fun. If you're too slow, you suffer. Go ahead and award the point - he answered fully and correctly.

It's a not-uncommon occurrence that someone hits on a partly-right answer but is not in a position to fully investigate.
Someone else, who may or may not have used the information gleaned so far, investigates and finds the full answer and nips in.
It's not locked and it's not against the rules either.  I think Arunas should get the point as he has given the information.

Some, like me, are reluctant to use the information gleaned by others, to take the point without actually giving the first person the chance to investigate further, but then if and when I do that someone else might jump in and take it anyway!

When there have been questions and answers with someone getting the answer partly correct, it often occurs that someone different gets the full answer.  My personal opinion is it isn't right to not award the final solver the point in that instance; some you get the chance to lock it and some you don't.  This time you didn't.  I don't think we can start having moral locks!

It's a 1927 Bond 1.5l  with coachwork by Jarvis of Wimbledon, and I believe it's a repost... (not sure if I should be answering this one anyway!)

That's the beast, so another point to you Barrett.  The car didn't show up on a search as I have it as a Bond 12hp, to give the 1.5-litre its correct period name.
