This is Kaiser Wilhelm II. in his Mercedes 38/70 PS Kettenwagen. The picture was taken in Hamburg where a tour through the Lüneburg heath organized by the Kaiserlicher Automobil Club ended.

Oh, now I might be in trouble.

At first I wanted to post the other photo, which has a defined subtitle - and it said that this was Kaiser Wilhelms favourite car.
And it was NOT a Mercedes...

So maybe we should use this second photo, which I was very sure shows the same car...

Interesting, that Mathis was a Fiat dealer before he produced his own cars at Strassburg.

According to the well known coach build site the "Mathis" Fiat was bodied by Widerkehr from Strasbourg, at that time part of Kaiser Wilhelm's domain.
