I found the picture of this car and did not find a great deal of it.
What I need is the full name of the car and the actual builder. I also would like to know the purpose of the car.

The question is obvious, but also it is so. It is related to DAF.

Just speculating:
Was the purpose of the car to investigate the possibility of using the DAF 'Variomatic' transmission in a front-wheel-drive configuration?

Not it was not.
I will give you this hint: It was to investigate something and it did feature the variomatic. But being a Daf, I suppose that goes without saying.
